A new auditor has been hired by the Victorville City Council. The award winning firm of Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. was retained to perform all the City’s 2008 audits.

The action was taken at a special meeting and was approved 4-0 with Councilwoman JoAnn Almond absent. The cost is $125,000.

Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. previously served the City of Victorville from 2002 through 2006. The company will be paid $125,000 and will issue audits on the City of Victorville, Victorville Redevelopment Agency, Victor Valley Economic Development Authority, Southern California Airport Authority and Southern California Logistics Rail Authority.

The firm comes with extensive experience, and was responsible for the City of Victorville receiving a Government Finance Officers Association award for its 2006 audit. Additionally, members of the firm have authored award winning audits for the cities of Pasadena, Riverside and Burbank.

According to City Manager Jim Cox, “The City is fortunate to be able to retain a firm with such high qualifications. We look forward to the completion of the 2008 audits to enable the City to move forward.”
